Online Rehearsals

Zoom rehearsals have become the way forward and I have embraced them wholeheartedly.  I know my way around the technology and I encourage choirs to give of their best!  Singing on your own to a screen is challenging for everyone but I help you achieve more than you thought possible!

Emergency Call-out

Every choir has a last minute emergency occasionally and needs a deputy to take a rehearsal.  I have sung most of the choral repertoire so it's most likely I will know the music; but I am also an excellent sight reader and pianist as well so can still coach on unfamiliar repertoire. I'm always happy to take a rehearsal at very short notice.

Choral Coaching

My special focus is on the sound a choir produces, and consequently I pay a lot of attention to the singers' vowel sounds in order to produce a good tone. I always start with a full warm-up, then a demonstration of how to apply the techniques just learnt. One benefit is that good tone almost always improves the choir's intonation!
I have worked and sung with many choirs over 30 years and have the experience to tackle all the problems that they find challenging.

Live Rehearsals

My style is quite energetic and I try to get the best out of everybody in the shortest possible time! I always aim for high standards but I enjoy working with singers at all levels so tailor it to the people in front of me. All are encouraged to give of their best - and they usually do!
